As we can see in the above table, the highest money spent by any state on gold is Kerala. Yes, Kerala people Spend Rs.199.7 per month per household on gold Jewellery and also Kerala spend six time more than 2nd most gold spending state.
While the Meghalaya state from 7 sister state spends the least on gold, just Rs.0.9 per month per household.
The average monthly spend by Indian household on gold is Rs. 7.24 per month. If we talk about rural and urban then, Rural India spends Rs.5.18 on gold per month per household while Urban India spends Rs. 11.8 per month per household.

If we talk about the Union territories then Lakshadweep Spends highest on gold with Rs. 86.7 per month per household while, Diu, Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli spends only Rs.13.5 Per month per household on gold.

Q: – Why Sikkim is having zero expenses on Gold?
Answer – Sikkim is a border state and has very thin population of just 6 lakh only. So, most of the Sikkim population goes to other states like West Bengal or Assam to buy gold. So they have shown zero expense on gold.

Answer: – The reason is unknown to us but There are high number of visitors from Kerala to dubai and the may be the reason they buy the most gold or import gold in india. Rs.200 per month from each household is big thing.

Answer :- Well not truly. As Rural India’s Each household spends Rs.5.18 each month on gold while the urban household spends Rs.11.8 per month on gold and gold jewellery. In short, Urban household spends almost double of what rural india spends.
