International Yoga Day (21st June) - How to Participate and Benefits of Yoga

Do you know about the International Yoga Day? There is great news for yoga! The united nation (UN) general assembly will take the initiative to take the resolution with the unparalleled 175 countries joining as co-sponsors. Let’s know more about it in detail. UN adopts proposal to declare 21st June as International Day of Yoga.

About International Yoga Day:

In a proud moment for India, the UN general assembly will announce 21 June as International Yoga Day. This international yoga day will be used to spread awareness about the numerous health advantages of practicing yoga. The draft resolution will distinguish that “Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being,” echoing narendra modi’s comments to the annual general assembly session in September 2014.

The resolution was equipped by India and unceremonious consultations were convened in October by the Indian mission in the United Nation general assembly where different views were shared by other delegations. Moreover, the resolution will be adopted under “Global Health and Foreign Policy”. In addition, less than 3 months after narendra modi proposed the idea, 175 countries have joined as co-sponsors! Isn’t it great guys?

You can join various yoga camp all across india where people are going to gather for doing Yoga on International Yoga Day 2015.

In India, PM Narendra Modi to lead 45,000 at Rajpath yoga camp, Delhi. From Vijay Chowk to C-Hexagon at India Gate, will be turned into a yoga arena. - Source.

In Hariyana, Special yoga training camps will be organized in Haryana by experts of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21. - Source.

In USA, Sushma Swaraj to lead Indian delegation at the International Day of Yoga in New York, Washington on June 21, 2015. In the ambitious 100+ cities drive, 15 cities in New Jersey-New York area, seven cities in California, six cities in Texas and three cities in Ohio have already finalized the details of the Yogathon. - Source.

Most of us don’t practice yoga. However, there are great health benefits of practicing yoga regularly. After knowing the health benefits of yoga you will start doing it regularly! In addition, 21 June is going to be declared as international yoga day!

1. Flexibility - Yoga helps to stretch your muscles as well as you feel less stiff and tired.

2. Strength – Some yoga styles such as 'ashtanga' and power yoga are very physical and if you do one of these styles it will help you to improve muscle tone.

3. Breathing – Practicing yoga helps you to get relax and breath well. It may also call for particular breathing methods.

4. Heart Problems – Yoga helps you to lower blood pressure and slow heart rate. A slower heart rate helps people who have high blood pressure and heart disease.

5. Less Stress – You may feel less stress and more relaxed after practicing yoga. Some yoga styles use meditation methods which help to calm mind.

How many people going to participate in International Yoga Day?

As of now there is no clear number of how many people are going to attend yoga day celebration. But in most of the part of India, there are many big program are going to conduct to perform Yoga.
